The first time I travelled out of BC was to go to Anaheim for Disneyland when I was 16. I remember trying to get my Grandfather to let me loose so I could go to one of the many famous skate spots in California. Alas, I wasn't even allowed to bring my board. I ended up having a great time at Disneyland with my family. The best part of the trip was cheap NHL tickets because the fanbase for the Anaheim Ducks isn't as rabid as the Canucks fanbase.

One of the highlights of my life was my two-week trip to Europe. We went to Berlin in Germany, Amsterdam in Holland, Bruges in Belgium and the Normandy region in France + Paris. I noticed how different the culture in Europe was compared to Canada immediately when I saw you had to pay to use the washroom in Germany at certain places. After 3 days in Germany, we took the night train to Amsterdam. I was stoked to get there I could hardly sleep on the train. I eventually woke up to windmills as far as the eye could see. I really enjoyed my time there. We were there during the yearly Tulip Festival so flowers adorned the streets and canals everywhere you looked. We really only spent 6 hours in Bruges most of which I spent eating waffles and exploring the city. I wandered into a chocolate shop, and the owner gave us free chocolate because he saw the Canadian flags on our backpacks. The Normandy region of France was beautiful, and it was quite surreal to stand where soldiers stormed the beaches during WW2. Finally, we ended with 3 days in Paris and what can I say, it was Paris! Good food, beautiful architecture and of course the Eiffel Tower. You can't know how you handle heights until you get to that top deck.
